Waee Center Condemns the Terrorist Act in Karak, Affirming That Terrorism Constitutes a Flagrant Violation of Human Rights and the Principles of Islamic Sharia

Statement Issued by Waee Center for Human Rights Training

Waee Center for Human Rights Training strongly condemns the terrorist act that targeted innocent people and civilians in Karak Governorate, affirming that any attack on human life, security, and dignity is a crime that contradicts humanitarian values, Jordanian values, and human rights principles, and violates the provisions of Islamic Sharia, which regards the preservation of human life as one of its supreme objectives.

The Center affirms that Islam is a religion of mercy, peace, and justice that rejects terrorism, intimidation, and attacks against innocent people, and prohibits the unjust taking of human life, as stated in the Holy Qur’an: “Whoever kills a person unjustly, unless in retribution for murder or for spreading corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed all of humanity.”

The Center further emphasizes that violence and terrorism threaten not only the lives of individuals but also the security and stability of society, undermining the values of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and the rule of law.

The Center stresses that combating terrorism is a shared national and societal responsibility that requires upholding the rule of law, raising religious and human rights awareness, rejecting hate speech and extremism, and fostering a culture of respect for human life in a manner that safeguards the security of the nation and the dignity of its citizens.

In this context, the Center expresses its pride in the unity and solidarity of the Jordanian people in confronting all threats to the Kingdom’s security and stability. It recalls the assurances of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein that treacherous bullets will not divide the Jordanian people, and that the people of the nation, from north to south, are united by their sense of belonging, their land, and their shared stance. The unity and solidarity of Jordanians in confronting violence and terrorism constitute a fundamental pillar in protecting the nation and preserving its security and stability.

Waee Center for Human Rights Training expresses its confidence in the competence of the security services and their ability to pursue those responsible for these terrorist acts and bring them to justice, ensuring the protection of national security and stability and safeguarding the rights and safety of citizens.

As it extends its heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to the families of the victims, Waee Center prays that Almighty God envelops the deceased in His vast mercy and grants the injured a speedy recovery.
