As part of the “Women Lawyers Combating Technology-Facilitated Digital Violence against Women” initiative, the specialized technical training program “Digital Empowerment and Cybersecurity for Women Lawyers” was launched today in Mafraq Governorate. The two-day hands-on, interactive training is led by cybersecurity specialist Ms. Rawan Al-Qatawneh.
The program is implemented in cooperation with the Jordan Bar Association as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the capacities of women lawyers in the areas of digital security and safety, including developing digital security plans and protecting legal files and sensitive data from cyber risks and threats.
The training is supported by the Mafraq Branch Committee of the Jordan Bar Association and was attended by Committee members Mr. Sayel Al-Zubaidi and Mr. Amer Al-Balawi. Mr. Al-Zubaidi, Secretary of the Branch Committee, emphasized the importance of this initiative in empowering women lawyers and enhancing their knowledge and practical skills in digital security. He noted that safeguarding legal files and data has become a professional necessity amid the growing landscape of cyber risks and threats, and that rapid technological developments continue to present increasing challenges for legal practitioners. He reaffirmed the Committee’s ongoing support for this pioneering initiative and for the participating women lawyers.
This training forms part of a series of capacity-building programs implemented by the Waee Center for Human Rights Training across Jordan’s governorates under the “Women Lawyers Combating Technology-Facilitated Digital Violence against Women” initiative.
